The NEDC Business Awards recognize the achievements of Indigenous entrepreneurs and businesses across Vancouver Island. From emerging entrepreneurs to established businesses and community-owned enterprises, these awards celebrate the dedication, innovation and leadership that contribute to stronger local economies.
Every business has a story worth sharing. Through these awards, we honour those who are creating opportunities, inspiring others and making a positive impact in their communities. We invite you to nominate an outstanding Indigenous business or entrepreneur and help us recognize their success.
Awards Categories
This award recognizes an outstanding Indigenous entrepreneur under the age of 39 who has demonstrated success, leadership and commitment in building and growing their business.
Judging Criteria: Financial Viability, Management, Marketing, Customer Service, Innovation, Business Exposure, Years of Operation
This award is to acknowledge businesses in operation less than 4 years.

This award recognizes businesses using new ideas and creative approaches to succeed.

This award acknowledges businesses demonstrating outstanding success.

Nominate a deserving business for an NEDC Award
These awards will honour businesses in four categories. A committee will review the nominations and select the recipients in accordance with the awards’ criteria. The awards will be presented at an awards ceremony celebrating aspiring entrepreneurs and Indigenous business in our region.
