Bellachow: Better Bowls, Built by Chefs

What started as a conversation between accomplished chefs D'Arcy Ladret and Peter Zambri, two devoted dog owners, has grown into Bellachow, an innovative pet nutrition company creating superfood gravies that transform everyday kibble into nutritious, tail-wagging meals.

Built on decades of culinary expertise, Bellachow combines premium ingredients with food science to help dogs enjoy healthier, more flavourful meals. What began as a shared passion project has quickly grown into a thriving business, proving there's a strong appetite for chef-crafted nutrition in the pet food industry.

For co-founder D'Arcy Ladret, the journey to Bellachow began long before the company was established. Raised in a Métis family that did not openly embrace its Indigenous heritage, he spent much of his early life disconnected from his roots. As an adult, learning more about his family's history gave him a deeper appreciation for his heritage and the values that continue to guide his work today.

D'Arcy's culinary career began at the renowned Sooke Harbour House, where he was mentored by Peter Zambri. After attending culinary school, his career took him from British Columbia to Los Angeles, specializing in pastry before expanding into food science, product development, and commercial manufacturing. Along the way, he became a respected consultant, helping companies develop innovative food products and improve manufacturing processes for brands across North America.

In late 2023, Peter approached D'Arcy with an idea inspired by their shared love of dogs. Together, they began asking an important question:Why wasn't there a healthier, more convenient way to improve what dogs eat every day?

Their research led them to bone broth, a nutrient-rich ingredient that dogs love but one that spoils quickly once prepared. Determined to solve that challenge, they developed Bellachow's signature superfood gravy, allowing pet owners to add wholesome nutrition to every meal in just minutes. Months of research, formulation, testing, and refinement resulted in a product unlike anything else on the market.

Bellachow officially launched in 2024, and the response exceeded expectations. What began as a side project quickly generated strong online sales and growing interest from retailers, confirming there was a demand for premium, chef-crafted nutrition made with high-quality ingredients.
