Build Our Future: A Young Indigenous Business Conference is a multi-day conference in Parksville,BC where you can come be inspired about business and self employment. You do not need to have your own business to come and benefit from this high energy weekend of great people, new knowledge and plenty of inspiration!
Kendal Netmaker is a young, world-class, First Nations speaker and entrepreneur. He has founded and invested in 5 businesses, and has received over 25 business awards. Kendal is on a mission to empower entrepreneurs and leaders. Start off this weekend with this empower session by Kendal to get us into the mindset to learn about starting and strengthening businesses.
Helping keep us on track and having fun will be the amazing Stan Wesley. He Emcees and presents at conferences across Canada. If you don’t know him yet, you certainly won’t forget him after this!
2018 NEDC Business Awards Gala – To continue the powerful start to the conference the evening wraps up with a Business Awards Gala that conference attendees are invited to join. Businesses from 6 categories including: Business of the Year, Best New Business, Best Youth Business, Best Environmental Business, and Best Cultural Business.
Following the opening Keynote and Awards Gala will be a day filled with workshops and case studies to share best practices for creating or strengthening your own business.
To wrap up the weekend, we will end on a half day of strategies and advice for taking the next step.

The NEDC Aboriginal Business Awards celebrate the accomplishments of the Nuu-chah-nulth businesses, NEDC clients and Aboriginal businesses within the Nuu-chah-nulth region.
This year, these awards will honor businesses in FIVE categories.
This year, these awards will honor businesses in FIVE categories. A committee will review the nominations and select the recipients in accordance with the awards’ criteria. The awards will be presented at an awards ceremony celebrating aspiring entrepreneurs and Aboriginal business in our region.
Winners receive tickets to the Business Awards Gala, 1 night stay at Tigh-na-mara, increased awareness of their business, and well deserved recognition.

This award acknowledges businesses demonstrating a commitment to protecting, respecting & celebrating the environment.
