The Nuu-chah-nulth Economic Development Corporation
has developed a youth entrepreneurship program to assist Aboriginal
Youth in areas of business development.
The four components of N.E.D.C.'s Youth In Business
program are:
1. The Loan Funds
2. Assistance and Aftercare
3. Community Workshops
4. Mentorship
1. The
Loan Funds
Youth Loans (for 19-35
years of age) up to $15,000
Reduced Equity Requirement from 15% to 10%
2. Assistance and Aftercare
Your Business Service Officer is always here to give you advice,
before and after loans have been approved.
3. Community
Workshops
For youth who are interested in starting up their own businesses.
The workshops include introductory information relating to NEDC
business planning, marketing and financing.
4. Mentorship
Mentors are community professionals who assist in the development,
operation, and aftercare of new business. The NEDC mentoring program
encourages and supports mentoring relationships.
Who Is
Eligible?
Nuu-chah-nulth Youth and Aboriginal Youth living
within the Nuu-chah-nulth territories. Businesses may be both
on and off reserve. A youth is any person between the ages
19 and 35 (inclusive)
